China National Arena was built in 2007 for 2008 Beijing Summer Olympic Games. After being used for 13 years, this marvelous building received its refurbishment for 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games as main stop for many important indoor ice sports competition. China National Arena has 18,000 seats in total since its completion in November, 2007. After this refurbishment, it will have 2600 Hilo-Horit Upholstery Smart Seats for premium seating area and 15,400 for generic seating area.

Upholstery Smart Seat

In order to offer the best seating exprience for spectators who purchased ticket of premium seats during the Winter Olympic Games, Avant Sports was approached as the seating supplier to work together with arena management to specifically develope smart seating sytem featured with GPS navigation by employing BIM and AR technology. With this smart seating system, spectators can easily find out where exactly they are, and know how to get to their seats without any hassles by logging on the APP specifically develped by the arena management via their smartphone. More importantly, this smart seating system could help navigate spectators to evacuate the arena quickly and safely in emergency.

China National Arena have a plan for replacing all of current generic seats with this smart seat within next 3 years. By then, spectators can expect to have a easier and more convenient seating exprience for the events in this facility.
