The Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games will open in Japan on September 19, 2026. Rather than relying heavily on newly built venues, the Games are making extensive use of existing stadiums, exhibition centers and public spaces.
This approach creates a practical challenge: how can existing spaces be adapted for major sporting events while remaining useful after the Games?
Avant Sports is contributing flexible seating solutions to several Asian Games venues, including modular metal grandstands and retractable seating systems. These solutions allow spaces to quickly adapt to different sports and event requirements while maintaining their long-term usability.

Flexible Seating for Temporary Outdoor Venues
At Kasugai Country Club East Course and Hekinan Green Beach Volleyball Venue, Avant Sports provided modular metal grandstands for outdoor competitions.
The systems can be configured for different site conditions and installed efficiently to create safe and comfortable spectator areas. After the events, the grandstands can be dismantled, allowing the sites to return to their original functions.
This makes modular grandstands a practical solution for temporary sporting events where flexibility and minimal long-term impact are important.

Supporting 3×3 Basketball in an Urban Space
The 3×3 basketball competition will be held at Kinjo-futo Station Plaza, bringing the sport into an open urban environment rather than a traditional stadium.
As the official global grandstand seating partner of FIBA 3×3, Avant Sports is providing modular metal grandstands for the event.
The flexible seating system can be adapted to the competition layout, providing spectators with a safe and comfortable viewing experience while allowing the event space to integrate naturally with its urban surroundings.
Aichi Sky Expo: One Venue, Multiple Sports
Aichi Sky Expo, one of Japan’s major exhibition and event facilities, will host several Asian Games competitions, including fencing, skateboarding, BMX freestyle and breaking.
Avant Sports is providing different seating solutions to meet the requirements of these sports.
For fencing, skateboarding and BMX freestyle, modular metal grandstands are installed around the competition areas to create temporary spectator seating. Once the competitions are finished, the systems can be removed so the exhibition center can return to its regular use.
For breaking, Avant Sports is using a retractable seating system. The seating can be extended during competitions to bring spectators closer to the action and create a more immersive atmosphere. After the event, it can be retracted to free up valuable floor space.

Flexible Venues for a More Sustainable Future
The Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games demonstrate how existing spaces can be transformed to meet the needs of major international sporting events without losing their original purpose.
For Avant Sports, this project highlights the value of flexible stadium seating solutions in creating multi-purpose venues.
From temporary outdoor grandstands to retractable seating inside exhibition centers, Avant Sports continues to provide adaptable solutions for sports venues and major events around the world.
We look forward to the exciting Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games and wish all athletes the very best in competition.
